23rd - 25th May 2009: The 'Coca Cola' 'Fan Cam' campaign saw fans of each of the six Play Off finalists demonstrating their passion for their club. Positioned at Wembley City prior to kick off, fans were given a chance to record their messages of support for their team. A selection of these messages were then broadcast live  at the National Stadium.

 

30th May 2009: National Express Drives Sales to Wembley           Wembley City worked with National Express to transform their special FA Cup coach into a studio for talkSPORT radio on FA Cup final day. The commercial sports and talk radio was broadcast between 12pm and 7pm from the unique coach which was positioned on Olympic way on Saturday 30th May.

17th May 2009: Blue Square Balloon debut                                               Wembley City welcomed The Blue Square team with their hot air balloon at the Blue Square Premier Playoff final between Cambridge United and Torquay United.

The balloon could not have been closer, less than 100 meters from the basket to the main front entrance and was strikingly visible to every single fan who walked up Olympic Way on their way into and out of the stadium.

U2 Concert:  14th and 15th August                                  Blackberry                                                                          For summer 2009, Blackberry has been running a great campaign which asks you to share why you ‘love your Blackberry.’ They targeted U2 concert goers; via three interactive tents set up on Wembley City’s Olympic Way, showcasing the latest Blackberry technology.

Carling Cup Final: 1st March                                                  McCoys Crisps
McCoy’s Crisps took up a pitch on Olympic Way and handed out 23,328 bags of crisps in 4 hours to football fans. Gina Bolger, Account Director from Wax Live which represents McCoy’s said, “This was an extremely successful promotion for us and our client.  The site on Olympic Way was in a prime position that enabled us to interact with approximately 90% of the crowd in only 4 hours. The male demographic was also a perfect fit for our brand."

Take That concerts: 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th July                               Play.com was the main sponsor of the Take That circus tour. They took Wembley City’s Pedway & Olympic Way banner sites and handed out Play.com discount cards to the 40,000 people that walked up, Olympic Way, to the National Stadium prior to each concert.   

Nestle Curiously Cinnamon                                                             Leigh Darby, Account Manager at ID, representing Nestle said:  “I just wanted to get in touch to say thank you for all your help with the Curiously Cinnamon sampling activity at Wembley City. We really appreciate all your help over the four days which meant we could execute a really successful campaign – the team distributed approx 84,000 samples! Please do let us know of any future opportunities at Wembley as we’d be very keen to get involved again.”

Durex                                                                                     The Take That concert provided Durex with the perfect opportunity to target 16-24 year-old women with safe sex advice. As part of their summer long campaign ‘He says, You say’, the aim was to provide young women with the words to encourage their partners to practice safe sex and wear a condom. Durex and YouthNet handed out 400 pairs of branded pants and gave out campaign literature.
