The Wembley
Brent Bursary
Terms and
Conditions:
- This bursary has been created
under the agreement to support local employment and training between QED
(Quintain Estates and Development) and the LBB (London Borough of Brent),
therefore only local residents can apply.
- To be considered a local
resident an applicant must have lived in Brent for at least 5 years prior
to the application date.
- Depending on the quality of
their essay and their grades the best candidates will be requested to
attend an interview with a selection board.
- The bursary will be granted to
the candidate or candidates following a successful interview with the
board. During this interview, applicants must do a presentation.
- The board will be formed by
representatives from QED, WLL (Wembley London Limited) and LBB.
- Candidates that can not attend
the interview with the board lose the opportunity to get the bursary.
- Successful candidates will need
to provide proof of address and university grades on the day of their
interview.
- In the case a successful
candidate can not provide the information requested; the candidate will
lost the right to the bursary.
- The total amount of the bursary
is up to £2,500.
- The aim of the bursary is to
financially assist during the time the successful candidates are in full
time education.
- Applicants must be studying the
second year of a university
degree in a career related to the construction industry.
- The promoters of this bursary
can not guarantee work experience during the summer.
- Prior to be beginning of the
work experience, the successful candidates must pass an interview with the
consultant company in charge of the work experience.
- In the case of work experience
provision during the summer the successful candidate must participate on
it, otherwise he/she will lose the right to the bursary.
- The bursary will be paid in two
instalments (at the end of the summer experience (or September) and in
February), subject to the reception of satisfactory reports from the
student’s Year Tutor.
- If the student decides not to
continue his/her university studies, he/she will lose the remaining amount
of the bursary.
- The successful candidates must
be prepared to take part in all publicity related to the bursary.
- Application to the bursary is deemed to be acceptance of these rules.
- The decision of the board and
the promoters of this bursary scheme in all matters is final and binding.
